Education or Schooling?

Today I spoke with a relocating father who couldn’t decide between a great school in the destination country or a school that would keep his son current with his home country curriculum.  He acknowledged that his son would learn more, in a broad sense, from being among kids and teachers from a different culture, and experiencing a total new life.  He understood that education was larger than schooling.  But rather than risking putting his child through an academic transition, today and on repatriation, he chose the narrow definition.
